The West Volusia Hospital Authority (WVHA) is an independent special taxing district established by the State of Florida for the purpose of providing access to health care for indigent residents of the district.
The enabling legislation can be found here: http://laws.flrules.org/node/4395
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM, in the community room of the DeLand Police Department, 219 W. Howry Avenue in DeLand. This website is updated infrequently, and accuracy of meeting information shown here is not guaranteed. Meeting notices are published in the legal notices section of the Daytona Beach News-Journal per statutory requirement. Two hearings are held in September of each year to permit public input on the budget and ad valorem tax rate (millage) under consideration for the upcoming fiscal year. Generally the WVHA takes a recess in December, holding no meeting during that month.
Agendas for meetings are available on request.
Please contact us if you would like a copy of the agenda for our next meeting.
Pursuant to Chapter 80-150 of the Florida Session Laws, if an individual decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, that individual will need a record of the proceedings and will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made.
